We’re excited to share an important update with our community: Mate Sports Tech has been acquired by Strength By Numbers (SBN), a global leader in objective assessment technology.
This is a positive step for every Timing Mate and Barbell Mate user. Your experience won’t change today—and over time, it will only improve.
Strength By Numbers brings a larger engineering team, a powerful cloud platform, and a long-running track record in force measurement, movement analysis, and performance testing. By joining forces, we’re setting up the Timing Mate and Barbell Mate products for faster development, deeper software capabilities, and a stronger long-term roadmap.
Together, we’ll continue delivering reliable, accurate tools that help athletes, coaches, and clinicians test, track, and improve performance.
What This Means for You
Everything stays the same for now.
Your hardware works exactly as it does today. Your app access continues. Your support continues. There are no changes to your workflow or your daily use of the product.
In the future, you’ll begin to see improvements as the products become more closely connected with the Strength By Numbers ecosystem—such as expanded analytics, improved device compatibility, and more powerful coaching features.
You’ll always be kept informed well ahead of any changes.

Your existing app access, logins, and workflows remain exactly the same. If any updates are made in the future, they will be communicated clearly and implemented as smoothly as possible.
Will I be able to see Timing Mate or Barbell Mate data in the Strength By Numbers platform?
Yes — Timing Mate Teams data will be available in the AxIT Connect cloud portal.
This will allow you to store, review, and compare Timing Mate test results alongside your other AxIT data.
Barbell Mate data is planned to follow at some stage in the future, and both teams are working toward deeper integrations across the ecosystem. We’ll share more details as development progresses and will continue prioritising features based on customer needs.
